Bed Bug Treatment – Important Information for Clients

Bed bug extermination is a demanding process and its successful outcome also requires your cooperation.

A properly prepared and treated environment significantly facilitates the disinfestation process and increases its effectiveness.

Moreover, in unprepared or insufficiently prepared premises, it is often not possible to carry out the treatment at all.

For this reason, we kindly ask for your cooperation. The spray treatment reaches even hard-to-access areas where bed bugs often hide, allowing the treated space to be safely re-occupied as soon as possible.

An effective treatment saves both our time and your money. With a properly prepared apartment, we additionally guarantee complete eradication of bed bugs within two treatments.

Areas That Will Be Treated

The spray will be applied mainly to:

  • beds, mattresses with covers, bed frames and storage spaces,

  • unfolded sofas and couches, including storage compartments,

  • bedside tables, bed chests, cabinets and the surrounding areas of wardrobes,

  • walls behind beds and sofas, including shelves and curtain rails,

  • floors, carpets, skirting boards, wall cladding, areas around windows and doors,

  • back sides of pictures, cracks, crevices and gaps in walls.

The spray is not applied to bedding, clothing, books, electronics, etc.

Preparing the Room Before Treatment

  • Empty storage spaces in beds and sofas.

  • Remove bed linen, take off duvet covers, pillows, etc. (do not remove mattress covers).

  • Remove items from around beds, sofas and bedside tables (lamps, toys, books).

  • Move beds, furniture and sofas approximately 20 cm (approx. 8 inches) a  away from walls; ideally unfold or dismantle everything that can be.

  • Thoroughly clean the room – remove dust, sweep and mop floors, including the area behind beds. By thoroughly cleaning and removing dust before the treatment, the spray adheres much better to surfaces and forms a protective layer that lasts up to two weeks!

  • Carefully cover computers, printers, sensitive electronics, documents, etc.

  • Terrariums, aquariums and similar equipment that cannot be moved must also be well covered – the products used are highly toxic to cold-blooded animals.

  • Place bed linen and clothing from wardrobes into plastic bags and tightly seal them. If possible, wash the contents at a minimum of 60 °C (140 °F) using the longest available washing cycle. Open the bags only directly at the washing machine – be cautious, bed bugs may remain inside the bags.

  • Remove bed headboards (unscrew wooden ones, remove carpets from walls, take down posters, mirrors, shelves, etc.) and leave them in the room for bed bug treatment.

  • Place personal belongings into plastic bags and keep them sealed on a table in the room. Completely empty wardrobes, bedside tables, desks, drawers, shelves and bed storage compartments.

During the Treatment

The insecticide used is odorless but may irritate the respiratory tract. Therefore, no people or animals may remain in the treated rooms during the procedure. You must stay in untreated areas, such as the kitchen.

The ideal time for treatment is in the morning. By evening, the spray will have dried and ventilated, and you can safely sleep in the room again.

During the treatment and for at least 3 hours after completion (ideally longer), the premises must be thoroughly ventilated.

After the Treatment

  • You may re-enter the treated rooms only after thorough ventilation (minimum 3 hours).

  • Pets and small children may touch treated surfaces only after the applied substance has completely dried.

  • Do not clean treated surfaces using wet methods for the following two weeks, as this would disrupt the residual protective layer of the product (after this period, the treatment must be repeated).

  • During this period, clean floors only using "dry methods" (sweeping). Do not vacuum upholstered furniture or treated surfaces.

  • Put clean bedding on the beds. Do not move furniture and do not bring any new furniture into the treated areas.

  • Wipe only surfaces that may come into contact with food, using warm water and detergent.

  • Store items treated after the first intervention at a sufficient distance from infested beds or furniture.

  • Wash bed linen once a week at a minimum temperature of 60 °C (140 °F) .

  • Do not use a steam cleaner on treated surfaces – steam destroys the active substance. (If you have any sensitive items that you would prefer to treat using a non-chemical method, please feel free to tell us.  We have a professional steam generator available and can safely treat sensitive items such as children's items, selected types of pillows, pet accessories, dining benches, and similar furnishings.)
