Participation in DDD Days in Valeč

This year again, we took part in the traditional DDD Days, which were once more held in the beautiful setting of the castle in Valeč. Every year, this event represents for us not only a combination of professional education and inspiration from practice, but also regular meetings of people connected by a love for the same field.

Trade Fair and News from Practice

The product exhibition is always a very attractive part of the whole event. The opportunity to see all the new products live, discuss details directly on site with professionals, and try out equipment in practice is irreplaceable. This way, a person gets a clearer idea of the technology they plan to purchase, sees modern types of traps in operation, and can literally "get a feel" for new models of stations.

By the way, I'm still waiting for a brave enough customer with a drive for innovation, with whom we will dive together into a smart station system. The possibility of online control of the entire system, receiving output data and information from stations directly to a computer or mobile phone, and maximizing the efficiency of interventions based on transmitted data is an incredibly attractive challenge! And if no such person appears soon, it looks like I'll have to make my wife happy and upgrade the rodent control protection of our attic. :D Enthusiasm for innovation has never been missing for me, and I simply want to try this!

This year, we also brought back several interesting ideas for improving company equipment as well as new things to test to refresh our established work procedures. Especially in the area of long-term prevention in buildings, disinfection, and more efficient application during interventions in more complex or truly specific spaces. Don't worry — floating stations or the challenge in the form of refillable rodent bait stations may also come into play.

Sewer rodent control is an area where I dare say I have fairly deep experience. At the same time, it is a topic that has been widely discussed in recent years. The general pressure of society for ecological and sustainable solutions is already affecting well-established companies that have been carrying out quality large-scale rodent control in municipalities, cities, and extensive premises for years. New ways of bait fixation are constantly being sought, without reducing the long-term proven effectiveness of carried-out interventions with quality bait consumption results.

Practical experience with modern technical solutions in the field of insect monitoring and trapping was also beneficial, helping us better set up long-term functional solutions for clients.

Professional Program

The lecture section was truly packed this year. Topics were presented that have a direct impact on the everyday practice of DDD companies — from experiences from inspections and requirements of supervisory authorities, through legislation and professional procedures, to modern technologies and current developments in the field. A major inspiration was also the possibility of obtaining new certifications, as well as innovations making work easier during administration thanks to a very efficiently developed application. The methodology of precisely carried-out hygiene in animal breeding and in other places with increased hygiene requirements also brought valuable information.

Great emphasis, as always, was placed in the lectures on correct work methodology, precise application, and an appropriate combination of preventive and intervention measures. Of course, the issue of growing pest resistance was also addressed. An interesting lecture presenting research results across Europe showed that it is increasingly important not to stop in maintaining a responsible, thorough, and well-thought-out approach.

Meeting Colleagues

No less important is always the human side. I met many great colleagues, fans of professional pest control, and friends from all over the country. Even though this year, due to accumulated work, I arrived only for one day without staying overnight, we still managed to exchange valuable experience with colleagues, discuss cooperation, and of course have a laugh. These informal conversations often bring insights just as valuable as the lectures themselves.

Conclusion

For me, DDD Days are every year a confirmation that our field is constantly evolving and that behind it stands a strong community of great people who truly care about the quality of their work.

Many thanks go to the DDD Association, the organizers, lecturers, exhibitors, business partners, and all of you "DDD folks" for a perfectly prepared event. I'm already looking forward to the next year.
